It didn’t start as a hustle — just helping a friend find a short-let apartment and recommending someone who sells foodstuff; but when I started getting thank-yous, small tips, and repeat requests, I realized my WhatsApp wasn’t just a chat app — it was a soft business platform hiding in plain sight.
WhatsApp isn’t just for updates and vibes — it’s a market, a portfolio, and a goldmine if you know how to move smart.

🛜 The Hustle You Don’t See on Instagram
I don’t post flyers. I don’t do logos. I don’t stress.
Most of my work happens quietly — inside DMs, on status views, and through word of mouth. In a city where everyone is tired of being sold to, I don’t market — I just show up consistently.
My three income streams:
Short-let referrals — I connect house seekers with verified hosts. When they book, I get ₦5k–₦10k per deal.
Bulk food sales — I take orders for bags of rice, tomatoes, oil, etc. Clients pay me, I pay my plug, and earn small margins.
Secondhand furniture connects — Used fridges, clean mattresses, etc. I scout from trusted dealers, send photos via DM, and negotiate delivery.
No storage. No rent. Just network, trust, and clear communication.
🧠 How I Actually Make the Money
I don’t just broadcast randomly — I observe people. I watch reactions, ask questions, and serve based on need. On Mondays, I post food bundles. On Fridays, I post home deals. On Sundays, I check in with potential renters.
I keep records.
I follow up.
I ask for feedback — then post it.
And I reply like a real human being, not a robot or desperate seller.
That’s how people trust me. That’s how I get referrals. That’s how I’ve never needed to beg anyone to buy.
😮💨 What It Took to Get Here
At first, I wasn’t confident.
I hated “looking like a hustler.”
I didn’t want to be seen as someone chasing money.
But Abuja will humble you — and then train you.
I realized I didn’t need to sell hard — I just needed to offer help with clarity. Every time I solved a problem, money followed. Every time I showed up consistently, trust grew.
It took months to build — and many ignored messages. But now, some weeks I make ₦30k, some weeks ₦70k. On average, ₦50k. Quiet. Clean. Calm.
🙌 What You Can Learn From This
You don’t need a big audience. You need clarity + consistency.
Use your WhatsApp status like a store window
Speak like a real person, not a poster
Don’t sell things — solve problems
Build trust before trying to sell
And please, don’t ghost your customers
This isn’t a get-rich-quick story. But if you're intentional, your phone can start working for you — even if it’s just ₦10k extra weekly. That’s still progress.
